This is it! Day 5 of Daniel Fast preparation—your final day before you begin the 21-day journey. Today is your complete practice run, your declaration of faith, and your moment of consecration.

we explore Daniel 1:12-13 where Daniel makes his bold request: "Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink." Daniel was so confident in God's ability to sustain him that he invited scrutiny. He said, "Watch me. Compare me to everyone else. You're going to see the difference."

That's the posture I want you to have today—not fear or worry, but confident expectation. You're not hoping God might sustain you; you're EXPECTING Him to sustain you because that's who He is.

This is where you shift from "I'm getting ready" to "I'm READY." This is your moment of consecration where you set these 21 days apart as holy and dedicate them completely to seeking God.

Tomorrow you wake up and begin your 21-day journey. And from the FIRST day—not the 21st day, but the FIRST day—your prayers are heard. God is already moving on your behalf.

Today's Scripture: Daniel 1:12-13 - "Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink."

Physical Preparation for Today: ✓ NO CAFFEINE TODAY (complete elimination) ✓ Eat ONLY Daniel Fast foods (fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds) ✓ Drink only water and 100% juice ✓ Practice eating at the times you'll eat during the fast ✓ Get a good night's sleep tonight (rest is crucial!)

Practical Preparation - Meal Prep Day:

Breakfast Prep:

  • Make overnight oats in mason jars (oats, almond milk, banana, berries, chia seeds)

Lunch/Dinner Prep:

  • Cook big pot of soup or chili (lentil, vegetable, sweet potato black bean)
  • Roast tray of vegetables (sweet potatoes, broccoli, carrots, bell peppers)
  • Cook large batch of quinoa or brown rice

Snack Prep:

  • Pack bags/containers with fruit, trail mix, veggies with hummus

Final Steps: ✓ Set morning alarm (build in devotional time) ✓ Gather journal and Bible in prayer space ✓ Fill water bottle for tomorrow ✓ Review Day 1 in journal tonight

Spiritual Preparation - The Most Important Part:

Extended Worship Time:

  • Put on worship music and be in God's presence
  • Sing, pray, sit in silence
  • Let Him fill you and speak to you

Bible Reading:

  • Read Daniel chapters 1 and 2 slowly and prayerfully

Declaration of Faith: WRITE THIS: "During this 21-day fast, I believe God will..."

  • Be specific, be bold, be expectant
  • Examples: clarity about career, healing, restored relationships, breakthrough

Your Daily Shift: Write your declaration of faith. Spend extended time in worship and prayer. Consecrate these 21 days to God.

Spiritual Warfare Reminder:

  • The enemy doesn't want you to finish this fast
  • Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world
  • Angels are fighting for you (just like they fought for Daniel)
  • You are covered, protected, strengthened, and victorious

Declaration to Speak Over Yourself: "I am going to finish this fast. I am going to see breakthrough. I am going to experience God in ways I've never experienced Him before. The enemy has no authority over me. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. I am victorious in Jesus' name."
